hello.Awards day yesterday. Went with gavin's parents ;]
Reached there quite early. I'm an usher. I didn't do my job lol.

The true story about purple stars

At one time all of the stars were purple. They covered every inch of Squi...erm, heaven and everyone marveled at them. Everyone loved the purple stars; the angels shined them every day and the citizens would marvel at the purple stars and hope to have one some day. The thing is; after a while angels began taking the stars for granted and just assuming their little quadrant of heaven would always have purple stars. To make matters worse, citizens were totally disregarding any respect for the stars and the angels weren't doing anything about it! Well, the powers that be at HQ-uh, heaven decided that such behavior would not be tolerated among the angels or any denizen of...heaven.

It was decided that the stars would from then on be white. Everyone was shocked! White stars? What about the beloved purple stars? It was further revealed that only those angels and citizens who showed extreme worthiness would be bestowed with a purple star. This meant that the angels and the citizens would have to make Squid-uh, heaven a truly beautiful place again or there would be no purple stars. This meant keeping the place spotless and shiny. It meant contributing to other angels and citizens in an artful and considerate way and it meant being more helpful and spreading more joy. It meant even MORE work!

I don't need to tell you that some of the Angels were just NOT happy about this. As I recall there was this one angel named Ver...I mean, Victoria who started all of the trouble. That particular angel had just had a really rough time that day and you know, stuff happens. Anyway, the angels all began to voice their opinion on it. All in all it was the good thing. The air was cleared and in the end the powers that be had the last word anyway.

Earning the purple star

And so it was decreed that unless a citizen or angel worked on maintaining and even improving the greatness of ...heaven, they could not receive a purple star. it was the hope of the powers that be that this would make everyone want to work really hard on earning a purple star. It was also made clear that everyone was special whether they had a purple star or not. Purple stars would be hard to come by so no one should feel bad if they don't have one, but should keep working hard to try to get one.

Because of the huge impact this could have on history it was also decided that any reference to the purple star after that time would simply be referred to as "star". Therefore, "Twinkle, twinkle little star" was used in place of "Twinkle, twinkle purple star". It also meant that people would remember "Dancing with the purple stars" as simply "Dancing with the stars". The only time the term "purple star" was used was to to signify those who had done well and achieved the purple star. It was a big adjustment but it all ended well. The moral of the story is that you don't have to have a purple star to be wonderful, but if you have a purple star, it proves you are.
